INDEPENDENTS:

I watched Face the Nation on Sunday and saw Bob Shieffer's interview with Obama's boy, David Axelrod. What occurred to me was Axelrod's lack of persuasion. Shieffer kept asking him, Can we recover? Will we recover? Especially in time for the election. Axelrod just kept repeating "compromise" and "bipartisanship," blahblahblah.

Why is the administration not saying, "The bank bailout was a success; the automobile industry bailout was a success; what makes you think we cannot bail out our country?"

Oh, that's right. . . Independents.

It is a shame that this election (yet again) is going to come down to such an ignorant voting population that sees itself as "voting with their gut." The same group of people who vote for Rick Santorum and John Kerry and wonder why the country is so effed up. The same group of people who get pissed when Bush Jr. does exactly what he promises to do and vote in Obama, who does exactly what he promises to do and are ready to vote in another candidate . . .

VERIZON:

Made bazillions of dollars last year; but their low-down greedy workers are just bleeding them dry with all their whining about cost of living wages, health benefits, and so on. Verizon really has no choice but to start out sourcing their jobs! Poor Verizon.

DRILLING:

Pittsburgh City Council wants the Elections Bureau to proceed with plans to put a ban on drilling to referendum. Isn't this a moot point? It will be struck down in the courts.

Or are they taking advice from their former colleague, Tonya Payne; "Who really cares about it being unconstitutional?"

PAGES:

The two-century-old page program at the Capitol is gone. News to me. I thought it was abolished when former Congressman Mark Foley was fucking around with the boys. On Wikipedia, way before I paid any attention to the news, there was another Congressional Page scandal. It really was only a matter of time . . .

DIRTY DANCING REMAKE:

Don't.
